
The Yobe State Government has disclosed that it constructed 929 classrooms and reconstructed 301 schools across the state as part of efforts to strengthen the education sector and expand access to quality learning.
Arewa PUNCH gathered that the Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, has also established 10 Government Girls’ Senior Secondary Schools in a move aimed at improving girls’ enrolment, retention and completion rates in education.
Data released by the Yobe State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education showed that the interventions were targeted at addressing infrastructural gaps, improving teaching conditions and expanding educational opportunities across the state.
According to the ministry, the establishment of the 10 girls’ schools was designed to tackle the challenge of female students dropping out after junior secondary school.
