State Police: It Will Protect Persecuted Nigerian Christians – US Congressman, Moore

A United States Congressman, Riley Moore, has applauded the Nigerian Senate for passing the State Police Bill, saying the reform will significantly help protect persecuted Christians in the country.

In a post on his verified X (formerly Twitter) account on Wednesday, Moore stated that allowing states to establish their own police forces will empower them to better safeguard their citizens, particularly vulnerable Christian communities facing persecution.

The lawmaker made the comment shortly after the Senate approved the bill, which seeks to decentralise policing in Nigeria by permitting states to operate their own police services alongside the federal Nigeria Police Force.
