The National Examinations Council (NECO) has released the results of the 2026 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), providing candidates and schools across the country with details of their performance.
According to NECO, the 2026 Basic Education Certificate Examination had a total of 186,291 candidates that registered across the country. The council explained that the candidates sat for examinations in 12 subjects and were drawn from the 36 states of the federation, including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), and five foreign countries.
The examination, which commenced on April 20, and ended on April 30, 2026, had the results approved and released following the successful conclusion of the 2026 BECE award committee meeting held on Thursday at NECO’s headquarters in Minna, Niger State.
