Taraba gets permanent police HQ 35 years after creation

The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, on Friday commissioned the permanent headquarters of the Taraba State Police Command in Jalingo, the state capital, marking the first purpose-built command headquarters in the state since its creation in 1991.

Disu, while commissioning the newly completed Taraba State Police Command Headquarters, expressed optimism that the permanent structure would strengthen security operations, improve officers’ welfare, and deepen police-community relations across the state.

Represented by the Commissioner of Police, Taraba State Command, Moorkwap Dongshal Sebastine, the IGP said the facility would boost operational efficiency and contribute to peace, security, and development in the state.

He commended the Federal Government, the Taraba State Government, the Nigeria Police Trust Fund, and other stakeholders whose support made the project possible, saying the headquarters reflected the commitment of the police leadership to providing a conducive working environment for officers and men of the force.
