The Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG) in charge of Zone 2 Command, Olohundare Jimoh, has called on Nigerian youths to work closely with security agencies to ensure peaceful 2027 general elections.
AIG Jimoh made the call at the Political Intelligence Summit: Youth-Police Engagement Across the IBILE Divisions, organised by the Lagos State Office of Political, Legislative and Civic Engagement in collaboration with the Bureau of the Public Defender.
He described youths as critical stakeholders in promoting peace, security, and national development, stressing the need for stronger community policing, the fight against misinformation, and responsible participation in the democratic process.
“Effective policing requires collaboration between law enforcement agencies, educational institutions, community organisations and the youth,” Jimoh said.
He added that trust, accountability, dialogue, and inclusiveness form the foundation of successful community policing.
