President Bola Tinubu has directed the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) to enroll all Nigerians into its national database by the end of 2026.
NIMC Director-General/CEO, Abisoye Coker-Odusote, disclosed this while speaking on Channels TV’s Sunday politics programme.
According to her, the commission has so far captured 137,371,080 Nigerians in its database.
“We are now mandated by the President that we should go down to the community level and enroll every single Nigerian.
The President has given us till the end of this year to make sure that we capture every single Nigerian,” Coker-Odusote stated.
To meet the ambitious target, the NIMC has partnered with relevant organisations under the World Bank’s Identification for Development (ID4D) project.
