Nasarawa Gov Sacks Six Commissioners in Cabinet Reshuffle

Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule has relieved six commissioners of their appointments in a minor cabinet reshuffle aimed at repositioning his administration ahead of the 2027 general elections.  

  

 The decision was announced after the fifth State Executive Council meeting of 2026, held at the Government House in Lafia and presided over by the governor.

Governor Sule dismissed speculations of a complete cabinet dissolution, stating that only limited reshuffles and strategic adjustments would be made to strengthen governance and advance the next phase of his administration’s agenda.

He thanked the outgoing members of the Executive Council for their commitment and contributions to the state’s development.

Secretary to the Government of Nasarawa State, Shuaibu Magaji, who briefed Government House correspondents after the meeting, confirmed that the six commissioners were removed to make way for fresh appointments.

The affected ministries are:

Ministry of Security and Sundry Matters 

Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development 

Ministry of Works, Transport and Housing
