Nigerian University of Technology and Management (NUTM) has been named Nigeria’s sole member of Duke University’s Innovation Alliance, joining a select global network of institutions advancing innovation, entrepreneurship, and technology-driven education.
The university’s selection came at the inaugural cohort of the Innovation Sandbox, a 12-month peer programme convened by the Future Universities Alliance, a global learning network incubated by Duke University, USA.
NUTM emerged as the only Nigerian institution among the 49 institutions selected from 23 countries across five continents. Selection followed a competitive process amongst over 325 universities globally.
Babs Omotowa, the pro chancellor and chairman of NUTM’s governing council, giving more insight into the remarkable feat, explained that the Nigerian University of Technology and Management will participate in one of three Sandbox pathways.
Through this pathway, the university will bring its work on advancing technology-enabled entrepreneurship as part of the future of education.
