The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate for the 2027 election in Abia State, Kelechi Anosike, has criticised Governor Alex Otti’s administration, saying it has fallen short in prioritising the welfare of ordinary citizens.
Speaking at a press conference at the PDP State Secretariat in Umuahia on Thursday, Anosike claimed that several key policies of the current government have had limited positive impact on the lives of residents, particularly civil servants, traders, and transporters.
He argued that the administration’s heavy focus on infrastructure development has come at the expense of critical areas such as cottage industries, pension matters, and other essential sectors that directly affect people’s daily livelihoods.
Anosike specifically highlighted the plight of civil servants, alleging that they are not being paid in line with the agreed National Labour Congress (NLC) and Federal Government minimum wage.
