The traditional ruler of Arochukwu kingdom in Abia State, His Eminence Eberechukwu Oji, (Eze Aro IX) has announced plans to honour a Scottish missionary to Nigeria, Mary Slessor, with a library project as part of activities marking his second anniversary as king.
Slessor was known for Christian missionary work in Africa, women’s rights, and stopping the killing of twins.
The announcement was contained in a statement by chairman of the anniversary publicity team, Azubike Okoro, who said the celebration will open with an open-air crusade and medical outreach.
