Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has presented the scorecard of his administration, highlighting reforms in healthcare, education, road infrastructure and social protection, while stressing that these and more are evidence that people-centred governance can transform society.
Otti made this disclosure in Lagos while delivering a keynote address at the 60th birthday celebration of Citizen Bolaji Oluwayanmife Akinyemi.
His keynote speech was tagged ‘Life at 60: Senior Citizens, Government’s Role and the Citizens’ Pact.’
While speaking, Otti declared that national development depends on a strong partnership between responsible leadership and active citizenship.
The governor said that meaningful progress is achieved when citizens demand accountability, reject mediocrity and insist on good governance, while leaders remain committed to empathy, integrity and faithful stewardship.
Presenting his administration’s scorecard, Otti said Abia State has witnessed significant improvements in road infrastructure, enhanced security, regular payment of salaries and pensions, revitalisation of primary healthcare, and expanded investments
