Abia State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to building transparent, accountable, and efficient public institutions, through the implementation of a comprehensive anti-corruption strategy.
This commitment was reiterated during a stakeholder meeting on the anti-corruption strategy and implementation framework, held recently in Umuahia, the State’s capital.
The meeting brought together government officials, civil society organisations, media representatives, and other key stakeholders to review the strategy and develop a roadmap for its implementation.
Ben Ojiekere, Head of Service, emphasised the need to rebuild public institutions, through a deliberate process of institutional reorientation.
Represented by Ukeje Uche Ukpabi, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Lands, Ojiekere stressed that only individuals of proven integrity, should be entrusted with driving the reform process and assured participants that the administration of Governor Alex Otti, would provide the necessary support and enabling environment for the successful implementation of the strategy.
