Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has alleged that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is planning to freeze the accounts of the state government ahead of the August 15 governorship election.
Information and Public Enlightenment Commissioner Kolapo Alimi stated in Osogbo on behalf of the governor, claiming that the anti-graft agency is also reportedly planning to freeze the accounts of all top government functionaries.
Accusations of Lawlessness and Lack of Legal Basis
Governor Adeleke stated that such a plan, if true, amounts to the height of lawlessness and is designed to paralyse government activities ahead of the upcoming election.
