The spokesperson for the Imole Campaign Council, Pelumi Olajengbesi, has faulted the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Osun State, Bola Oyebamiji, for failing to attend the Peace Accord meeting ahead of the August 15 governorship election.
In a statement released on Friday, Olajengbesi described Oyebamiji’s absence from the event, convened by the National Peace Committee, as “a demonstration of disregard for the people of Osun State and the democratic process.”
He noted that the meeting date had been communicated months earlier, yet Oyebamiji chose to attend a campaign rally in Iwo instead.
While a member of his campaign council, Kola Olabisi, represented him and his running mate, Kayode Adereti, arrived after the signing had concluded, Olajengbesi insisted that the APC candidate should have been present in person.
