Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke has directed the immediate suspension of all activities of the National Union of Road Transport Workers in motor parks across the state as part of measures to restore order and strengthen public security.
The directive was issued on Thursday following a meeting of the Osun State Security Council chaired by the Governor.
According to a statement signed by the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Kolapo Alimi, the decision followed extensive deliberations on the security situation in the state and the need to restore sanity to motor parks.
Adeleke directed the Police and other security agencies to immediately stop all NURTW activities in motor parks across the state, stressing that the order does not include the closure of the parks.
He also ordered the suspension of the collection of all levies in the parks and directed security agencies to arrest anyone parading as an official
