
The self-proclaimed Director-General of the Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC), Adeniyi Adeyemi, has been detained at the headquarters of the Force Intelligence Department’s Intelligence Response Team (IRT), located at the former Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) headquarters in Guzape, Abuja, as investigations into the alleged fake government agency continue.
Adeyemi was arrested in Osun State by operatives of the Intelligence Response Team led by Chief Superintendent of Police Moses Lohor before being taken to Ibadan and later flown to Abuja.
His arrest followed a warrant issued by Justice Mohammed Umar of the Federal High Court in Abuja after he failed to appear in court for arraignment over allegations of conspiracy, forgery and impersonation.
A senior police officer, who spoke on condition of anonymity, confirmed that Adeyemi is currently being interrogated at the IRT headquarters.
