Africa needs more solution providers than problem highlighters

Every nation—and indeed every continent—has problems.

No country is immune to economic uncertainty, political complexities, social inequality, technological disruption, environmental pressures, or security challenges. Throughout history, every prosperous nation has faced periods of instability and adversity before achieving progress.

Africa is no exception.

Across our continent, we continue to grapple with economic volatility, governance challenges, unemployment, insecurity, infrastructure deficits, educational gaps, healthcare constraints, climate-related pressures, and widening inequalities. These realities are undeniable. They deserve honest discussion, rigorous research, thoughtful policy, and sustained public attention.

Ignoring problems has never solved them.

Yet another danger is often overlooked.

A society can become so accustomed to discussing its problems that it gradually loses the habit of solving them.

There is a profound difference between identifying a problem and resolving one.
