Super Eagles defender Felix Agu marked his long-awaited return from injury as Werder Bremen recorded a two-nil victory over VfL Bochum in a pre-season friendly at the Parkstadion in Zell am Ziller on Saturday, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
The Nigeria international was named in Werder Bremen’s starting line-up for the training camp fixture, making his first appearance after recently recovering from muscular problems that had kept him out of action during the club’s pre-season preparations, having trained individually in the days leading up to the match before being declared fit to feature.
Erevbenagie broke the deadlock in the 42nd minute after latching onto Olivier Deman’s perfectly weighted pass, rounding Bochum goalkeeper Timo Horn before finishing into the bottom corner.
Agu, aged 26, endured a physical afternoon on the left flank and was booked shortly after the restart following an altercation that also saw Alessandro Crimaldi and former Werder teammate Manuel
