The Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Akeem Owoade, on Wednesday, approved a slight modification in this year’s Oro Festival, which commenced from Thursday, July 23, to Wednesday, July 29, 2026.
A statement released by the Director of Media and Publicity to the monarch, Bode Durojaiye, in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, said, “The modification is a sequel to the Basic Education Certificate Examination for Junior Secondary School 3 (Basic 9) students required to transition to Senior Secondary School, which coincides with the festival.
