The Anambra State Government has inaugurated the 2027 Budget Committee, charging its members to ensure the state’s next appropriation is guided by transparency, fiscal discipline and evidence-based project selection.
The Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Chukwukadibia Okoye, inaugurated the committee on Friday at the Inter-Agency Board Room of the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning, Jerome Udoji Secretariat, Awka.
According to a statement issued after the inauguration, Okoye urged members to approach their assignment with focus, commitment and a strong sense of ownership.
He stressed that the 2027 budget process must be driven by transparency, discipline and integrity, noting that the budget remains the principal tool for translating government policies and programmes into tangible development outcomes.
The commissioner said the process must remain transparent and people-centred, adding that the budget should deliver measurable impact for residents while advancing Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s development agenda.
