The All Progressives Congress has constituted its National Campaign Council and several sub-committees ahead of the August 15, 2026, governorship election in Osun State, appointing Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma as chairman of the campaign council.
The party said the move is part of preparations to coordinate its nationwide campaign structure and mobilise support for its candidate in the forthcoming election.
The announcement was contained in a statement issued on Sunday by the APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka.
According to the statement, the campaign council was constituted through a notice signed by the party’s National Secretary, Senator Ajibola Basiru.
PUNCH Online reports that Osun is one of the states expected to hold off-cycle governorship elections this year, with political parties intensifying campaigns and strategic preparations ahead of the poll, which is expected to test the strength of the major parties in the South-West.
