The All Progressives Congress (APC) has dropped former Benue State Governor Gabriel Suswam and five other senatorial candidates, along with 19 House of Representatives aspirants, from its final list of candidates submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The revised list, which affects seven senatorial districts and 19 federal constituencies, was forwarded to INEC following recommendations from the party’s Primary Election Appeal Committee.
The changes impact states including Abia, Benue, Ebonyi, Kaduna, Kogi, Kwara, Niger, Ondo, and Taraba.
In a letter jointly signed by APC National Chairman Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda and National Secretary Sen. Ajibola Basiru, the party stated that the National Working Committee (NWC) reviewed and approved the appeal committee’s reports as its final position on the affected constituencies.
The letter read in part: “Following the determination of appeals from the recently concluded primary elections, the reports of the Appeal Committee were reviewed and subsequently considered and approved by the party’s NWC…
