African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar has declared that the Presidency is not a secret cult where only approved voices are permitted to speak.
Atiku noted that nobody needs the permission of the Presidency to speak the truth in a democratic setting.
In a statement by his spokesman, Phrank Shaibu, Atiku said the Presidency and President Bola Tinubu urgently need to apologize to the Archbishop Emeritus of the Catholic Archdiocese of Abuja, Cardinal John Onaiyekan, and the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Nigeria.Onaiyekan had led a bishops’ conference delegation on a visit to President Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
After the meeting, the cardinal disclosed that Tinubu disagreed with their assessment of the economy and security concerns, insisting that his administration was on the right track.
