Army commander urges soldiers to sustain pressure in counter-insurgency operations

The Commander, Infantry Corps, Nigerian Army, Major General Godwin Mutkut, has charged troops of the Headquarters 27 Task Force Brigade, Sector 2, Joint Task Force Operation HADIN KAI, to remain aggressive, professional, and committed in the ongoing counter-insurgency operations against Boko Haram Terrorists and Islamic State West Africa Province elements in the North-East.

In a post on X on Wednesday, Acting Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, 27 Task Force Brigade Buni-Gari, Gujba LGA, Yobe State, Lieutenant Tasi’u Abbas, said Mutkut gave the charge on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, during an assessment visit to the Brigade Headquarters, where he reviewed the unit’s operational activities and interacted with officers and soldiers.

The corps commander commended the troops for their courage, resilience, and sacrifices in protecting Nigeria’s territorial integrity despite the challenges confronting the military in the theatre of operations.
