AXA Mansard Insurance Plc grew its half-year profit by 14 percent to N7.8 billion, reinforcing its financial strength as Nigeria’s insurance industry enters a new post-recapitalisation era under the Nigerian Insurance Industry Reform Act (NIIRA) 2025.
The insurer’s latest earnings position it among operators seeking to demonstrate stronger balance sheets after the industry’s recapitalisation exercise, with profitability increasingly driven by disciplined underwriting, business diversification and technology-led growth rather than premium expansion alone.
Unaudited results for the six months ended June 30, 2026 showed insurance revenue rose 19 percent to N96.5 billion from N81.2 billion in the corresponding period of 2025, while Gross Written Premium (GWP) increased 17 percent to N134.9 billion, supported by growth across its Property and Casualty, Life and Health businesses.
Health insurance remained the company’s biggest growth driver, with premium income rising 32 percent to N60.6 billion. Life and Savings business expanded 21 percent to N20.4 billion,
