The Presidency has broken its silence on the bribery allegation targeted at the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, declaring them the fabrications of a criminal enterprise.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the clarification was contained in a statement issued on Wednesday by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
Recall that former vice president and presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress, Atiku Abubakar, had on Tuesday asked President Bola Tinubu to suspend his Chief of Staff over a ₦400 million bribery scandal.
The allegation was brought forward by Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi, the Director General of the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council.
Atiku argued that the suspension is necessary to allow for an independent investigation into the claims and a related budgetary controversy.
