The Government of Canada has released a list of 10 key tips to help travellers, immigrants, and prospective citizens submit complete applications and avoid mistakes that could delay processing.
In a post obtained from the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada’s X handle on Saturday, the guidance encourages applicants to complete and submit their applications online, noting that the digital system helps identify missing information before submission.
Applicants are also advised to answer every question on the application form and write “N/A” where a question does not apply.
According to the government, applicants should use the official document checklist available for each immigration program and ensure that any document not written in English or French is translated by a certified translator.
Officials also reminded applicants to submit only the required documents, avoid sending original copies unless requested, and ensure that passport photographs meet the prescribed specifications.
