Clarion Chukwurah, an ace Nigerian actress, has appealed to President Bola Tinubu to adopt urgent interim security measures while awaiting state police.
In an open letter shared via her Instagram page on Wednesday, Chukwurah commended the president for initiating the creation of state police, calling it a step in the right direction.
She, however, expressed concern that the process could take one to two years to become fully operational, particularly in rural communities where kidnappings remain rampant.
The 61-year-old actress argued that the administration’s efforts to combat insecurity are being undermined by internal political pressure, external interference, and what she described as ineffective strategies for addressing widespread poverty and unemployment.
