The Cross River State Government through the office of Social Intervention and Investment Programme has trained 221 facilitators made up of 196 ward development officers (WDO’s) and 25 local government liaison officers.
The initiative is aimed at creating social safety net for the very vulnerable and the difficult to reach people within the state.
The State Coordinator of the Programme, Dr Edem Effiom made the disclosure shortly after the training workshop on Tuesday in Calabar, adding that the capacity building for the programme will cut across all the 196 political wards in the state.
Effiom said the training would be in all the three senatorial district, from the south, central and the north districts of the state to build capacity in each of the wards.
