Delphic council, WISCAR push for women’s creative leadership

 

 

As Nigeria’s creative economy continues to expand, the Delphic Council and Women In Successful Careers (WISCAR) have called for greater investment in women’s leadership to unlock the full economic potential of the sector.

Besides, they warned that limited access to funding, leadership opportunities, infrastructure and visibility continues to hold back one of the country’s most important growth sectors.

The call was made at the Women in the Arts: Power, Voice and Economic Impact convening, organised by the National Delphic Council Nigeria in partnership with Women in Successful Careers (WISCAR).

Amina Oyagbola, president of the National Delphic Council Nigeria and founder of WISCAR, speaking at the convening, said Nigeria cannot build a globally competitive creative economy while women continue to face barriers to funding, leadership and market access.
