The Delta State House of Assembly has adjourned plenary for a six-week annual recess.
The Tuesday decision followed a motion moved by the Leader of the House, Mr Emeka Nwaobi, and seconded by the member representing Burutu II Constituency, Mr Pereotu Oloye, during plenary presided over by the Speaker, Hon Emomotimi Guwor.
The motion was unanimously adopted by members.
Before declaring the recess, Guwor commended lawmakers for their dedication and commitment to legislative duties during the last session.
He urged members to use the break to participate in scheduled training programmes aimed at improving their legislative knowledge and performance.
The speaker also advised lawmakers to visit their constituencies during the recess to engage with residents, assess their needs and obtain feedback on government policies and programmes.
