Real Madrid have agreed a deal with RB Leipzig to purchase Yan Diomande of Côte d’Ivoire for a reported fee of €125 million.
The Spanish giants announced an update on the highly anticipated transfer move on Thursday.
Madrid added that the deal will see 19-year-old Ivorian “tied to our club for the next seven seasons, until June 30, 2033”.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the Italian journalist, Los Blancos will pay an initial €125 million plus another €15 million as add-ons.
The quoted figures make Diomande the most expensive African footballer, eclipsing the €80m Arsenal paid for Nicholas Pepe from Lille in 2019.
Madrid outbid PSG and Liverpool for the signing of the teenage Ivorian, who spent just one season in the Bundesliga after joining Leipzig from Leganes in 2025.
