Ebonyi State Governor, Francis Nwifuru, on Monday inaugurated two new commissioners and carried out a major cabinet reshuffle aimed at strengthening governance and improving service delivery across the state.

The newly sworn-in commissioners are Professor Omari Omaka (SAN), who takes charge of the Ministry of Tertiary Education, and Hon. Sylvester Nwite, who was appointed Commissioner for Environment.

Governor Nwifuru also redeployed several commissioners to new ministries as part of the reshuffle.

The Commissioner for Information and State Orientation, Barr. Ikeuwa Omebe, announced the changes while briefing journalists after the State Executive Council meeting.

According to Omebe, the exercise followed the swearing-in of Professor Omaka and Njoku Onyekachi Felix, who was inaugurated as Special Assistant to the Governor before being assigned as Special Assistant on Youth Mobilisation.

Under the new appointments, Hon. Chidi Onyia was moved from the Ministry of Solid Mineral Development to the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development.
