The Edo State Government has opened talks with the United Arab Emirates to attract fresh investment into agriculture, livestock production and agro-processing as part of Governor Monday Okpebholo’s drive to expand the state’s economic base.
The initiative took shape when a delegation of the Edo State Government met with the UAE Ambassador to Nigeria, Salem Saeed Al Shamsi, at the UAE Embassy in Abuja on Monday to explore areas of cooperation and possible investment opportunities in the state.
The delegation was led by the Commissioner for Livestock Development, Ohimai Ehijimetor, and included the Special Adviser to the Governor on Livestock Development, Roland Igbadumhe; Senior Special Assistant on Agriculture and Food Security, Emmanuel Sule; and Project Coordinator of the Edo State Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support Project, Betsy Ikpikhumi.
