The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has denied a viral social media claim that it is secretly recruiting new staff, describing the report as false.
In a statement posted on its official X account on Monday, the anti-graft agency warned Nigerians against believing or sharing the misleading message.
The commission also shared a graphic carrying the words: “FAKE NEWS” and “THIS IS FALSE NEWS. BEWARE!”
The false post claimed, “Disturb your godfather ooo. EFCC is secretly recruiting. They are probably reporting for training next month.”
Responding, the EFCC said there was no secret recruitment exercise. The agency reminded the public that all its recruitment exercises are announced only through its verified official platforms and are never conducted secretly or through third parties.
The commission also urged Nigerians to verify any information about its activities through its official communication channels before sharing it or taking any action.
