The Ekiti State Universal Basic Education Board has extended the qualifying examination for its ongoing teachers’ recruitment exercise from two to three days.
The examination, originally scheduled for Friday, August 14, and Saturday, August 15, 2026, will now begin on Thursday, August 13, and run through Saturday, August 15, 2026.
The Permanent Secretary of SUBEB, Mr Michael Omolayo, disclosed this in a statement issued in Ado Ekiti on Monday.
Omolayo said, “The additional day is to enable the Board to efficiently conduct the examination for the large number of eligible applicants who successfully completed the application process.”
Recall that Ekiti State Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji, recently approved the recruitment of teachers into public primary schools to improve learning outcomes in the state.
The Ekiti SUBEB Chairman, Prof Femi Akinwumi, said the approval reflected the administration’s commitment to repositioning basic education for quality service delivery across the state.
