The Enugu State Primary Health Care Development Agency, in partnership with medical experts, has sensitised hundreds of nursing mothers and pregnant women across the state on the importance of family planning and the need to dispel prevailing myths surrounding contraceptive usage.
The sensitisation drive on Monday was conducted during an outreach to mark the global commemoration of World Contraceptive Day.
Health teams visited key primary healthcare facilities across the state capital, including Ugbo Owa Health Centre, Ikirike Health Centre, and the Railway Clinic in Enugu State capital.
Speaking during the outreach at Ugbo Owa Health Centre, State Health Educator at the ESPHCDA, Mrs Stella Ani, emphasised that family planning is safe and crucial for economic stability and child welfare.
