The Catholic Diocese of Enugu has distanced itself from a planned political endorsement rally in support of President Bola Tinubu and Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah, insisting that the event will not hold at the Jubilee Hall of Holy Ghost Cathedral, Enugu, as earlier publicized.
In a disclaimer issued on Sunday by its Director of Communications, Rev. Fr. Anthony Aneke, the Diocese stressed that it does not permit the use of churches, parish halls, or other ecclesiastical facilities for partisan political activities, including endorsement rallies.
The clarification followed a media announcement about a “Historic Endorsement Rally and Adoption Ceremony” scheduled for Friday, July 3, 2026, at the Cathedral’s Jubilee Hall.
