EPL: Liverpool ban 400 fans for ticket touting offences

Liverpool have issued more than 400 lifetime bans to individuals involved in ticket touting offences as the club intensifies its efforts to combat illegal ticket sales.

The club, working alongside Merseyside Police, seized assets worth more than £1.2 million linked to organised ticket touts as part of an operation targeting the laundering of criminal proceeds from illicit ticket sales.

According to BBC Sports on Wednesday, following the investigation, Liverpool imposed 432 lifetime bans and 115 indefinite suspensions on individuals found to have participated in ticketing violations.

Detective Chief Inspector Nick Suffield of Merseyside Police praised the partnership between the police and Liverpool, describing it as an important step in protecting genuine supporters.

“This is a fantastic example of partnership working between ourselves and Liverpool Football Club for the good of the fans and the general public,” Suffield said.
