Ex-FUOYE SUG president regains freedom after remand

The National Association of Nigerian Students has announced the release of the immediate past Students’ Union Government President of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti, James Adio, days after his remand by a Magistrate Court in Ekiti State.

NANS President, Akinteye Babatunde, disclosed the development in a post on his X handle on Friday, describing the release as a victory for justice.

“I am pleased to announce that Comrade Adio, the immediate past FUOYE SUG President, who was remanded in prison, has regained his freedom.

“I just spoke with him personally, and I am delighted to confirm that he is in high spirits,” Akinteye wrote.

He commended the Chairman of the NANS Joint Campus Committee in Ekiti State for his role during the period of Adio’s detention.
