
A former President of the Nigerian Bar Association, Abubakar Mahmoud (SAN), has been conferred with the traditional title of Garkuwan Kano by the Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, in recognition of his contributions to the legal profession, public service, mentorship and national development.
The conferment, which took place on Friday, has continued to attract commendations from prominent legal practitioners and associates, with a former Chief of Staff to Mahmoud during his tenure as NBA President, Muritala Abdul-Rasheed (SAN), describing the honour as “fitting” and “well deserved.”
