The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, FAAN, has issued a fresh update on the reported fire incident at Terminal 2 of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.
A statement by the FAAN’s Director, Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Henry Agbebire, said there was no fire at the terminal.
According to the statement, the smoke observed was due to the discharge of the terminal’s FM-200 fire suppression system.
It added that the cause of the incident was under investigation, adding that normal operations have begun at the airport.
“Further to our earlier advisory regarding the incident at Terminal 2 of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, wishes to provide the following update
“Preliminary findings indicate that there was no fire at the terminal. The smoke observed within the affected area resulted from the discharge of the terminal’s FM-200 fire suppression system.
