The faction of the National Union of Road Transport Workers led by a member of the All Progressives Congress in Osun State, Kazeem Oyewale, on Wednesday took over the state office of the union in Osogbo.
Before Oyewale assumed control of the Osun NURTW state office, Nurudeen Alowonle, a chieftain of the Accord, had been running the affairs of the union.
The PUNCH reports that tension gripped motor parks across Osogbo on Monday following clashes between rival factions of the NURTW during a protest march.
The faction led by Oyewale had stormed major streets in Osogbo to protest against the leadership of the Osun NURTW Chairman, Alowonle.
The protesters, accompanied by police operatives, visited the Aregbe Motor Park and moved through major streets in the state capital before converging on Old Garage, where they clashed with Alowonle’s faction.
