FCT IGR surges 344% to over N40bn monthly as revenue reforms yield results

The Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has risen by more than 344 percent, climbing from about N9billion monthly to over N40 billion, following revenue reforms implemented by the FCT Administration.

Nyesom Wike, FCT Minister disclosed this during in Abuja on Thursday, attributing the sharp increase to measures aimed at plugging revenue leakages, improving collection efficiency and expanding revenue sources, particularly from land-related payments.

Wike said the administration’s focus on recovering ground rents, improving the collection of Certificates of Occupancy (C of O) fees and strengthening accountability in revenue processes had significantly transformed the territory’s earnings.
