The Federal Government has approved N46 billion for the comprehensive rehabilitation of the primary and secondary runways at the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport (MAKIA), Kano.
Making the disclosure on Tuesday, Festus Keyamo, the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, revealed that roughly 60 per cent of the contract sum has already been disbursed to the contractor, who has mobilised to the site.
Keyamo spoke during the official commissioning of the newly upgraded Domestic Terminal (Dankabo Terminal) at MAKIA.
Describing the airport as a strategic aviation and commercial gateway for Northern Nigeria, the Minister emphasized that the project aligns with the Ministry’s Five-Point Agenda and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
