FG Bans Motorcycles, Tricycles on Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway

The Federal Ministry of Works has imposed a ban on commercial motorcycles and tricycles along the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway to protect the new superhighway from misuse and premature damage. 

  

Federal Controller of Works in Lagos State, Olufemi Dare, announced the restriction on Sunday, saying it would take effect this week. 

  

According to Dare, the measure is essential to preserve the integrity and ensure the long-term sustainability of the world-class infrastructure project. 

  

 The ministry also warned against indiscriminate parking of trucks and articulated vehicles on the coastal highway and bridges across Lagos State. 

It further prohibited the dumping of refuse along highway corridors, describing the practice as unacceptable.  

  

Dare cautioned that violators would face strict enforcement actions. Warning signages have already been installed along the route, and task force officials will be deployed at strategic points to enforce compliance.
