FG completes 40 roads, pushes 5,400km under construction

The Federal Government has completed approximately 1,800 kilometres of major road projects and is currently working on another estimated 5,400 kilometres of highways, expressways and strategic road corridors across Nigeria between May 2023 and May 2026.

It also completed 40 major road and bridge projects across the six geopolitical zones between May 2023 and May 2026, while 133 selected projects are still ongoing, according to the Federal Ministry of Works’ three-year projects report.

The ministry’s report, titled Federal Ministry of Works Projects Report: May 2023–May 2026, provides a regional breakdown of completed projects, ongoing construction works and emergency interventions carried out across the country.

The figures, compiled from the Federal Ministry of Works’ project documentation covering the period and analysed by our correspondent on Thursday, show that the administration of President Bola Tinubu has deployed major road infrastructure projects across the six geopolitical zones.
