FG deploys intervention team in UK to fast-track passport processing

The federal government has deployed a dedicated passport intervention team in the United Kingdom to process pending, new, and renewal applications by Nigerians in the diaspora.

 

The team, dispatched by the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) on the directive of Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, Minister of Interior, is scheduled to arrive in the UK on Monday and will work with the Nigerian High Commission to facilitate passport enrolment and processing.

 

In a statement issued Sunday, the NIS said the team will visit designated cities across the UK to conduct passport enrolment and processing.

 

The intervention is open to applicants with pending passport applications, new applicants, and holders of passports with less than one year before expiry who wish to apply for renewal.

 

Applicants are required to present their completed application forms and proof of payment during enrolment.
