The Federal Fire Service, Gombe State Command, has saved property estimated at N20m from a fire outbreak at the staff quarters of the Gombe Media Corporation on Saturday.
The incident, which occurred on Saturday, September 19, 2026, affected a residential building within the GMC staff quarters.
A statement issued by the Public Relations Officer of the FFS Gombe State Command, ASF Muazu-Bashir Musa, said the command received a distress call at 4:06pm and immediately mobilised an FFS 215 Multipurpose Water Tender from the ATM Fire Operation Base.
According to the statement, the fire truck left the base at 4:10pm and arrived at the scene at 4:25pm, where firefighters commenced operations to contain the blaze.
The statement said, “The fire involved a residential building within the staff quarters and was suspected to have been caused by an electrical fault.”
