
Fortune Football Academy of Oshodi emerged champions of the seventh JOF U-13 Cup Football Tournament after defeating FC VI-Foot Football Academy of Ijora 3-1 on penalties in a thrilling final at the University of Lagos Sports Complex on Sunday.
The keenly contested final ended goalless after regulation time before Fortune FA held their nerve in the penalty shootout to clinch the prestigious grassroots football title.
As part of its commitment to youth development through sports, tournament sponsor JOF Nigeria Limited rewarded the champions with N750,000, while runners-up VI-Foot received N500,000.
Soccer City Football Academy of Iwaya claimed third place with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Ultimate Football Academy to earn N350,000, while Ultimate FA received N250,000 for finishing fourth.
Outstanding individual performances were also recognised during the closing ceremony.
Okoroma Destiny of VI-Foot finished as the tournament’s highest goalscorer, while Fortune FA’s Odesola Odunayo was named the Most Valuable Player.
